This NSF-funded work is part of UO’s Center for Interfacial Ionics. It aims to bridge the gap between how scientists communicate about batteries and how people think about and use them.

This study aims to contribute to understanding the relationships among collective efficacy, solutions journalism news narratives, and behavioral outcomes, specifically in climate communications.

The Psychology of Greenwashing
This project examines whether environmentalists are more aware of greenwashing tactics because of their deeper commitment to environmental issues or if they are paradoxically more vulnerable to such tactics due to their urgency to address climate change.

Mapping risks of water injustice and perceptions of privatized water in the US
This mixed-methods study leverages spatial analyses to identify clusters of water injustice and a cross-sectional survey of public perceptions of water quality and privatization in the United States.

Actively Open-Minded Thinking (AOT) and willingness to act on genome editing
While AOT is theorized to aid individuals in navigating complex and polarizing issues, little prior literature has examined the role of AOT in public responses to emerging technologies, which is the aim of this research.

Exploring how proximity to environmental hazards impacts perceptions of injustice
This project uncovers how maps of environmental hazards and proximity to these hazards affect understanding of environmental inequities and motivate adopting actions to prevent exposures.
